CURRENT PROJECTS

ON ECOLOGICAL COMPLEXES OF INSECTS

                    The specialists of the Department of Entomophagous Insects and Ecological Principles of Biocontrol, Institute of Zoology of National Ukrainian Academy of Sciences  can provide expertise  identification of  indicated above groups of Hymenoptera and study the following ecological complexes of insects:

a.    egg-, larval-, pupal-parasitoids of leaf-rolling butterflies (Tortricidae) and other moths (Geometridae, etc.) in apple-tree/ fruit orchards 

b.   egg- and larval- parasitoids of seed-beetles (Coleoptera, Bruchidae) 

c.    entomophagous insects of leaf-mining pests (Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera) in the apple/fruit orchards 

d.   entomophagous insects of leaf-mining pests of oak (Quercus spp.), especially on Acrocercops brongiardella (Leidoptera)  

e.    parasitoids of sucking pests (Aphids) 

f.     parasitoids of Gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar) and Green oak roller-moth (Totrix viridana) 

g.    parasitoids of Codling moth (Laspeyresia pomonella) 

h.   phytophagous seed-feeding Chalcidoid wasps (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae, Torymidae, Pteromalidae) and their parasitoids 

i.      phytophagous and parasitic Cynipoid wasps (Cynipoidea)  SEE PHOTO 

j.      phytophagous gall-forming Chalcidoid wasps (Eurytomidae, Torymidae) 

k.   egg-parasitoids (Hymenoptera) of aquatic insects (Coleoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Odonata and others)  

l.     ants (Formicoidea) as predaceous insects of pests in natural and agricultural ecosystems 

m.                      entomophagous insects of sucking pests of grain crops 

n.     egg-parasitoids and larval parasitoids of thrips (Thysanoptera)  SEE PHOTO
