ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
The Institute of Organic Chemistry of the National Academy
of Sciences of the Ukraine - the leading scientific centre in
the Ukraine, was founded in 1939.
The scientists of the Institute carefully preserve and increase the
scientific trends and traditions set up by outstanding scientists, Academicians
of the Academy of Sciences of Ukr.SSR V.P.Yavorskii, V.G.Shaposhnikov,
A.I.Kiprianov, E.O.Shilov,
A.V.Kirsanov,
L.N.Markovskii.
The staff of the Institute consists of 200
research workers and 85 representatives of office and
management
personnel. The staff of the Institute's Pilot Plant consists of 150
workers.
THE MAJOR SUBJECTS
of the Institute are as follows:
OF PRACTICAL VALUE are the following
directions of the research performed at the Institute:
-
development of physiologically active substances for medicine and veterinary;
-
development of pesticides and plant growth regulators; - develop ent of
sensitizers for light-sensitive materials;
-
development of cyanine dyes for laser technics;
-
development of complexing agents for hydrometallurgy (extraction of heavy
metals) and complexones for the extraction of radionucleides;
-
developmen chemical additives to polymers based on PVC.
The production potentialities of the Institute's Pilot Plant provide for
manufacturing the products of fine organic synthesis from 100 g to 100
t depending on the end purpose.

INSTITUTE 'S BUSINESS INTERESTS:
-
The Institute is looking for the foreign partner to organize a joint venture
on the production of substances and ready medicines and pharmaceuticals
for veterinary; The basis for realizing of this proposal is the second
production building of the Pilot Plant with total area of 7.5 ths. sq.m.,
including 3.6 ths.sq.m. of floor area. The bulding construction is completed
by 80%.
-
Manufacture of the products of fine organic synthesis to the order of foreign
companies at the operating Pilot Plant of the Institute.
-
Carrying out research to the order of foreign companies and organizations.
-
Synthesis of chemical reagents to the order of foreign partners.
-
Any other commercial proposals, which take into account peculiarities of
the Institute's research and production activities.
